HeyGen to LiveAvatar Migration
How to move your implementation from HeyGen to LiveAvatar.
Migration Overview
Migrating from HeyGen Interactive Avatar’s to LiveAvatar can be a bit tricky. This guide helps step through the major pieces to make the migration as seamless as possible. The main steps you’ll need to take are:
-
Copying over assets
-
Transitioning your implementation
- Migrating your subscription
- Updating your implementation.
-
Cleaning up your HeyGen subscription
We’ll go over each of them in-depth.
1. Copying Over Assets
To start this first step of the migration, navigate to app.liveavatar.com. If you’re a space owner with any avatars or knowledge bases on HeyGen side, we will detect them and enable the asset migration flow.
When moving from HeyGen Interactive Avatars to LiveAvatar, we’ll help bring any existing creative assets with over. This is mainly your avatars, any associated voices, and the knowledge bases (renamed contexts in LiveAvatar).
Note - We do not support migrating individual voices at the current point in time.
When starting the migration, on LiveAvatar side we will automatically migrate all assets over. We do this by making a copy of each asset from your HeyGen account into your LiveAvatar account.
Note - since this is a copy, any changes made in your LiveAvatar account will not reflect in your HeyGen account. Similarly, any changes made in HeyGen will not reflect in LiveAvatar.
When successful, we will show the following message:
2. Transitioning your implementation
i. Migrating your subscription
After copying over your assets, if you do not have an existing LiveAvatar subscription, we will grant you a temporary LiveAvatar subscription for 30 days. During this trial period, this will enable testing of the new migration changes and your changes will work across both LiveAvatar and HeyGen Interactive Avatar.
ii. Updating your implementation
During this time, cut over your existing app and all API calls from HeyGen to LiveAvatar accordingly. Here are all changes from HeyGen to LiveAvatar and our recommendation on how to continue supporting this functionality.
LiveAvatar vs HeyGenAs you migrate to the new LiveAvatar APIs, please flag any issue to us in our forums or support services.
3. Cleaning up HeyGen
After you’ve migrated from HeyGen to LiveAvatar, if you no longer need the HeyGen API, we recommend cancelling your HeyGen subscription. This includes the main HeyGen subscription and any optional Interactive Avatar add-on subscriptions.
You can cancel your HeyGen subscription here.
When comparing on a per minute basis, LiveAvatar’s is tends to be much cheaper than HeyGen. Hence, we strongly recommend converting as soon as possible.
