Issue creating a LiveAvatar using a custom 3D character (webcam identity verification conflict)
26 days ago by Rodrigo Delamora
Hello!!
We are trying to create a LiveAvatar using a fully custom 3D character that we designed and own.
The issue we are facing is that LiveAvatar requires webcam identity verification, where the system checks whether the person on camera matches the avatar’s face. Since our avatar is not a real human face but an original 3D character, the verification fails and the avatar creation is cancelled.
This blocks legitimate use cases such as:
- Brand-owned virtual avatars
- Original 3D or stylized characters
- Non-human or fictional spokespersons
Our questions are:
- Is LiveAvatar currently limited only to avatars that directly represent a real human?
- Is there any alternative verification method for custom 3D or virtual characters?
- Is support for brand-owned or non-human avatars planned in the future?
We understand the need for identity and misuse prevention, but the current workflow prevents valid professional use cases involving original virtual characters.
Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thank you.
